This is a ceremonial start so that is why the lead dogs have an ad on them and there are two sleds. It is a big deal to get picked to sit in the sled during the ceremonial start. This took place on Saturday and then depending on the route for that year (there can be up to four routes), they transport dogs, sleds and fans to the real start the following day.
